graveyard adventures.

If you can't be a pine
On the top of the hill
Be a scrub in the valley
But be the best little scrub
By the side of the rill.
Be a bush
If you can't be a tree.
If you can't be a highway
Then just be a trail.
If you can't be the sun
Be a star.
If you can't be a Muskee
Then just be a Bass
But the liveliest Bass
In the lake.
We can't all be Captains
Some have to be Crew
But be the best
Of whatever you are.

Toni and I went for a walk around campus as we passed the cemetery we decided to go in and look around. Some may find it a little odd and strange that we would just want to spend our evening in the graveyard but it's actually really cool and the longer I was there the more I wanted to know about these people, what they would have looked like, what their personalities were like, what their dreams were, how they lived their life, what caused them to end up here; in this place. A lot of the ones that we saw that were older couples made me want to know how they met how they ended up getting married. Some that really got to me were little infants that died 2 months after they were born or ones that would be my age now. There was one that was born on June 10th, 1990 and died the same day. As I stood there staring at that gravestone and studying that date I slowly realized, oh June 10th that's today, how sad. But wait it's on there twice so that means she died on the same day, she only lived for a few hours. Wait look at the date. 1990. she's my age. A month younger than me, she would have been 20 today. Then all these things went through my head of how she could be living the college life, she could have been my roommate, in my ward, some great. who knows.

Clearly this man LOVED his wife. he ADORED her. Makes me wish I knew them, they probably did a lot of fun things together and I bet they were a way cute couple. I hope to one day meet and marry a man who will treat me like a queen.

letters to a lost loved one.

It's not a cemetery without crows.

  2. This post is bitter sweet. So beautiful to see the love between husband and wife but so sad to see they lost the love of their lives & especially the little babies who died so young.
